Feb 3, 2018-Indian Ministry of External Affairs has released a statement saying conclusion of three-tier election in Nepal as an important milestone in the democratic transition of Nepal.
The statement was released following the conclusion of Indian External Mininster Sushma Swaraj’s visit to Nepal. Swaraj arrived in Kathmandu on February 1 and held meetings with UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari and other political leaders before leaving on February 2.
The statement stated Swaraj congratulated the political leaders on their recent electoral victories and successful conduction of three-tier election in Nepal.
Minister Swaraj conveyed to all political leaders of Nepal that the Government of India is looking forward to working with the democratically elected Government to take forward bilateral ties to newer heights for mutual benefit, and to support the Government of Nepal, as per its priorities, in its endeavours for rapid economic growth and development, the statement reads further.
